Seeking Legal Guidance: Recovering Information and Compensation After a Pedestrian Accident
Two years ago, I experienced a serious pedestrian accident that significantly impacted my life. While crossing a residential or parking lot street at night, I was struck by a vehicle turning the corner. The collision resulted in a severely broken ankle, with the bone bent approximately 45 degrees in the wrong direction. Unfortunately, I did not obtain the driver’s information at the scene and was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Since then, I have been facing ongoing challenges. I currently have screws in my ankle, which continue to affect my mobility and ability to work effectively. Additionally, I was unable to work for four months following the incident, during which I received no compensation.
This experience has led me to wonder about the legal options available for obtaining information about the driver involved, even after such a long period. Specifically, I am interested in understanding whether it is still possible to access the driver’s details through law enforcement or hospital records, and whether pursuing financial compensation remains feasible now.
If you have insights or advice on navigating legal recourse after a pedestrian accident, especially in cases where initial scene information was not exchanged, I would appreciate your guidance.
