Photos and Reflections from Today’s Vigil at the U.S. Consulate

Today’s community gathering outside the U.S. Consulate was a powerful demonstration of remembrance and solidarity. The vigil began promptly at 5 p.m., drawing a large and growing crowd committed to honoring those affected by immigration enforcement actions.

Throughout the event, participants shared poignant words, recited heartfelt poems, and paid tribute to victims whose lives have been impacted by ICE-related violence. Flowers were distributed for attendees to place as symbols of remembrance or were brought by individuals to honor their loved ones.

The atmosphere was both warm and mournful, reflecting a collective sense of grief and hope. As people continue to arrive and pay their respects, the ongoing vigil creates a space of compassionate silence. The community hopes that the snow will remain undisturbed so that this tribute can stand as a lasting reminder.

This gathering mourns the lives of nine known victims of ICE’s actions since the beginning of 2026:

  • Geraldo Lunas Campos
  • Luis Gustavo Nunez Caceres
  • Luis Beltran Yanez-Cruz
  • Parady La
  • Victor Manuel Diaz
  • Heber Sanchez Domínguez
  • Keith Porter
  • Renée Nicole Macklin Good
  • Alex Jeffrey Pretti

In addition to these named individuals, the vigil commemorates countless unnamed victims—those who lost their lives in streets, detention centers, and private residences at the hands of immigration enforcement.

As the community honors these lives, it also reaffirms a commitment to justice, compassion, and the ongoing struggle for human rights and dignity for all.
